You can download composite footage either from your account Downloads page, or through the PFS APP.

Downloading from the Website

To download from the website, navigate to your account. Then select your Downloads page.

Navigate to the plugin that contains composite footage files. You will notice several items using the same box image.

You can determine which files are composite footage by reading the title of the orange Download button. Composite footage files will not have a “Pixel Film Studios - (plugin)” naming convention.

For example, in FCPX Glitch, the download named “Pixel Film Studios - FCPX Glitch” is the download for the installable tools that go into Final Cut Pro Directly. The download called “FCPX Glitch Lines” is one of the sets of composite footage files.

Downloading from the PFS APP

In the PFS APP, click Install next to the Composite Footage file. Composite footage files are marked with a film icon underneath the Drop Down for the plugin pack.

After it says “Install complete” open a Finder Window. Then, navigate to your User > Movies folder.

In the Movies folder, you will see a folder named PFS Composite that will contain composite files downloaded from the PFS APP.

Storing Composite Footage

You are free to place your composite footage anywhere you like on your computer. Just be sure to understand how you have your import footage set. If you are leaving your media in place on your computer for a project you won’t want to move that media as the Final Cut Pro project library will be pulling the media from that location and will create an alias link to that media dependent on its location. Alternatively, if you import your media and have it create a copy inside the library then the media will automatically create a duplicate inside the Original Media folder in the Final Cut Pro library.
