Discontinued Plugins and Product Support

The vast majority of plugins available on the Pixel Film Studios store are actively supported and maintained. However, in some cases, a product may eventually be discontinued and removed from active sale.

When a plugin is discontinued, it may no longer receive:

  • Compatibility updates for newer versions of Final Cut Pro
  • Support for newer macOS releases
  • Apple Silicon optimization updates
  • Bug fixes or feature improvements
  • Additional content updates

Why Products May Be Discontinued

A plugin may be discontinued for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:

  • The product no longer meets current Pixel Film Studios quality standards
  • Features included in the plugin have become built directly into Final Cut Pro or macOS
  • Changes to Final Cut Pro or macOS have made continued development impractical
  • The product relies on older technologies that are no longer supported
  • A newer or more advanced replacement product has been released

Access to Previously Purchased Products

If you previously purchased a discontinued product, it will generally remain available in your account download history for re-download, unless technical, legal, or licensing limitations prevent continued distribution.

Please note:

  • Discontinued products may no longer function properly on newer versions of macOS or Final Cut Pro
  • Pixel Film Studios cannot guarantee ongoing compatibility for discontinued products
  • Technical support for discontinued products may be limited

If you are unsure which operating systems or Final Cut Pro versions a discontinued product supports, please contact customer service before reinstalling or using the product on a newer system.

Product Support and Content Updates

Products that are currently available for purchase on the Pixel Film Studios store are considered actively supported products.

Many active products may also receive:

  • Compatibility updates
  • Performance improvements
  • Bug fixes
  • Additional included content updates

When available, these updates are typically provided at no additional cost to customers who already own the product.

Refunds and Exchanges for Discontinued Products

Because Pixel Film Studios products are digital software products delivered electronically, purchases may become ineligible for refund once the product has been downloaded, accessed, or used, except where required by applicable law.

If a product is discontinued shortly after purchase, we may offer an exchange for another product of equal value within 30 days of the original purchase date, subject to review and eligibility.

Products purchased more than 30 days prior to discontinuation generally do not qualify for refunds or exchanges unless otherwise required by local consumer protection laws.

Important Compatibility Reminder

Before purchasing any plugin, customers should always review the listed system requirements and compatibility information to ensure the product supports their current version of macOS and Final Cut Pro.
