“Application Would Like to Access Data from Other Apps” Pop-Up
When launching Final Cut Pro or certain plugins, you may see a macOS prompt:
“An application would like to access data from other apps.”
This is a standard macOS security feature. If not configured properly, the prompt may appear repeatedly.

How to stop the pop-up
To prevent this message from appearing every time you launch Final Cut Pro or a plugin, you’ll need to grant Full Disk Access to the necessary applications.

Step 1: Allow the initial prompt
- When the pop-up appears, click Allow
Step 2: Open Full Disk Access settings
- Close Final Cut Pro (if it’s open)
- Open System Settings
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Scroll down and select Full Disk Access
Step 3: Add required applications
- Click the + button
-
In the Finder window, navigate to:
Macintosh HD → Applications → Pixel Film Studios → Plugins
- Select the plugin applications you want to allow
- Click Open
You should now see the added applications listed and toggled ON.
Step 4: Add Final Cut Pro (recommended)
For best results, also add Final Cut Pro to Full Disk Access:
- Navigate to Applications
- Select Final Cut Pro
- Ensure it is toggled ON
Final Step
- Relaunch Final Cut Pro
You should no longer see repeated permission pop-ups.
Important Notes
- This is a macOS security requirement—not a plugin error
- All added apps must remain enabled in Full Disk Access
- If the issue persists, double-check that all relevant apps are added and toggled on
Once Full Disk Access is properly configured, Final Cut Pro and your plugins should launch without repeated permission prompts.
