How to Download & Store Composite Footage

You can download composite footage through the PFS App.

In the PFS App locate a plugin that contains composite downloads and press the blue Expand button. Then click Install next to the Composite Footage file. Composite footage files are marked with a film icon underneath the Drop Down for the plugin pack. You can press the Expand button next to a product that contains the composite downloads. For example we have FCPX Glitch installed.

After you have installed a composite and it says “Downloaded” you can locate the composite video files in Finder by pressing the 3 dot box [...] to the right of the download and pressing the View In Finder option.

You can also locate these manually in a Finder Window and navigating to the following path:
Macintosh HD > Users > Your User > Movies > PFS Composite

In the Movies folder, you will see a folder named PFS Composite that will contain composite files downloaded from the PFS App.

Storing Composite Footage

We recommend storing the composite footage where the PFS App installs the composite files to for easy access, however, you can move the composite files wherever you link on your computer or onto an external hard drive.

  • If you do move you composite footage downloads to another location there are a few things to note:
The PFS App will only see these as downloaded if the folders exist in the following location:
Macintosh HD > Users > Your User > Movies > PFS Composite
Moving them out of this location will cause the PFS App to think they are not installed.
  • Be sure to understand how you have your import footage set. If you are leaving your media in place on your computer for a project you won’t want to move that media as the Final Cut Pro project library will be pulling the media from that location and will create an alias link to that media dependent on its location. Alternatively, if you import your media and have it create a copy inside the library then the media will automatically create a duplicate inside the Original Media folder in the Final Cut Pro library.
