"Update Plugins" Pop-Up Error in Final Cut Pro

“These Plugins Need an Update, Contact the Developer” Pop Up

If you are seeing this pop up message, you may have old versions of FxPlug apps still installed on the system.

Note: if you reinstalled the plugin this does not affect already-installed FxPlugs, which is why you still may see the message even if you already installed the latest version.

Please see this page for more information on how to fix this issue: https://store.pixelfilmstudios.com/popup-when-launching-fcpx/

“FxAnalysis Could not be Completed” Pop Up

The error you are seeing is associated to an error with the FCPX program failing to run the analysis required for our plugin's application to open. To get rid of this error, we recommend reinstalling both Final Cut Pro and the plugin.

Here's a video about how to reinstall FCPX if you're not sure how: https://youtu.be/Ar30SZtbhrA

“Plugin is not responding” Pop Up

If you are seeing this issue, this would indicate a possible memory problem with the FCP or you have an outdated version of the plugin.

Uninstall Final Cut Pro and reinstall it from the Apple App Store. Make sure you are on FCPX 10.6.3 or Newer.

If you continue seeing the pop up please contact customer service with a screenshot of the pop up window so we can investigate the matter further.

Operation Terminated By User” Pop Up

This means you may have closed a track editor or other type of external editor window before allowing the plugin to finish analyzing the video. This is not an error but a notice that you have closed the window before either the analyzer has finished or that you did not press the Export Data button in the editor window prior to closing it.

Please wait until the green Render bar above the Timeline is done in the external editor (for plugins like our Trackers or Brush), or check FCPX’s Rendering progress window and wait for it to say “completed.”
