As long as your folders are set up correctly installation should go smoothly. In the event a product won't install or the button to install flashes for a second or looks like it completes then goes back to showing as still available to Install there may be an issue with either the names of certain folders or the permissions on those folders.
We will go over the two primary folder structures below for your Applications folders and Motion Templates folders. You will need to make sure you are the administrator on your mac and are logged into your administrator user before proceeding.
1. Applications folder structure and permissions
You may not have the Pixel Film Studios folder and subfolders (Log, PFS-Download, Plugins) in your Applications folder or the folders do not have the correct permissions. Please review this page to make sure you have the structure set up properly.

2. Motion Templates structure and permissions
You may be missing the Motion Templates folder and subfolders or they may exist but do not have the proper permissions.
Folder Structure
Open a Finder window and navigate to:
Macintosh HD > User > Your User > Movies > Motion Templates
Locate your Titles / Generators / Effects / Transitions folders.
If you do not have this set of folders, they will need to be created. The same will go for the Motion Templates folder if you don't have that either.
Create an empty folder and name it Motion Templates.localized.
*Spelling and correct capitalization matters. Please mind the exact spelling we have shown here. The .localized will be invisible if done correctly.
Next, inside the Motion Templates folder create four more folders and name them as follows:
- Titles.localized
- Generators.localized
- Effects.localized
- Transitions.localized
Once all of these naming conventions and permissions are in order we recommend restarting the PFS App. Then, navigate back to the My Products section to install the plugin(s).
