Getting Started with the PFS Installer
This guide walks you through downloading, installing, and using the PFS Installer, as well as managing your plugins and account.
Download the PFS Installer
To get started, download the latest version of the PFS Installer from our official page:

Install the PFS Installer
- Open the downloaded .dmg file
- In the window that appears, drag PFSInstaller into the Applications folder shortcut
- Close the window and eject the DMG from Finder
You can now find the app here:
Macintosh HD → Applications → PFSInstaller
Launch and Log In
- Open the PFS Installer from your Applications folder
- Log in using your Pixel Film Studios account email and password
If you signed up using Apple or Google:
- Use your App Login Key, located in your account dashboard on the Pixel Film Studios website
Install Your Products
All purchased products can be found in the My Products tab on the left side of the installer.
Installing plugins:
- Click Install next to any product to begin installation
- A progress bar will show the installation status
- Once installed, you’ll see options to Uninstall or Reinstall
Finding your plugins in Final Cut Pro:
Each product lists where it installs (Titles, Effects, Generators, Transitions).
Use this as a reference to locate your plugin inside FinalCut Pro after installation.
Single vs. Multi-Download Products
- Single download: Displays a file size under the product name
- Multi-download (Mega Pack): Click Open to view and install individual items inside the pack
Tips for finding products:
- Use the search bar at the top
- Scroll through your product list
Composite Downloads
Composite files install separately from plugins and do not appear inside Final Cut Pro.
They are stored here:
Macintosh HD → Users → [Your User] → Movies → PFS Composite

Uninstall or Update Plugins
Uninstall a plugin:
- Click Uninstall next to the installed product
Update a plugin:
- If an update is available, an Update button will appear
- If needed, you can uninstall and reinstall to get the latest version
Final Cut Pro Tutorials
The FCP Tutorials section inside the installer provides access to a full library of tutorial videos.
These cover everything from basic setup to advanced editing techniques.
Account Settings
Access the Account tab for the following features:
Personal Information
View your username and account email
Change Password
Update your password securely
Sessions
Sign out of other active devices
App Information
View your current installer version
- We recommend keeping the installer up to date

Install Locations (Show in Finder)
Quickly access key folders used by the installer:
- Motion Templates
- FxPlug
- Fonts
- Composites
- Plugin folders
- Log files
These may be requested by support for troubleshooting.
FxRun (Fix Red Screen Issues)
If you see a red screen in Final Cut Pro:
- Close Final Cut Pro
- Scroll to FxRun in the Account tab
- Click Run
- Wait for the process to complete
- Reopen Final Cut Pro and check your plugins
Log Out
Click the Log Out button at the bottom of the installer to sign out of your account.
